I've posted this information under another thread, but I will post it again: Fannie Mae is fueling the new round of housing bubble again with their “homepath” program:

These (unrealistically) favorable terms, including low down payment, “less than perfect credit” and “no mortgage insurance” requirements and “flexible mortgage terms” including interest-only loans which (assuming the borrower does not pay off extra principle) will not let the borrower build his equity, will entice a new round of high-risk borrowers into the housing market again.

I think if you live in the UK and you have a mortgage, you should consider some form of UK mortgage protection like this. As far as I know British insurance offer the best and most affordable policy available today. Unfortunately i was not aware that I didn’t have to go to my mortgage provider to get cover for mortgage payment protection insurance..I think I paid about twice that for my MPPI insurance. Ah well, at least it kept a roof over my head!
