Whoa, lorin, you are way overthinking this! You're not supposed to consider the consequences, you're supposed to blindly, gleefully grab the money. Then, a month or two later, when you realize what the loan payments and higher insurance rates add up to, you're supposed to be the outraged and pathetic victim who “dint unnerstand ….” Get with the program!

that it could be shown that the moneys were advanced as part of normal commercial
banking arrangements. For loans that transferred in the first tranche, NAMA accepted that
€299 million of those loans, issued after 7 April 2009, qualified for payment in full.”

personally i think that financial planners are always trying to tell you that your insurance coverage is inadequate. what kind of insurance are you thinking of taking up? i think that having a hospitalisation type plan in place is important, but when you have no dependents, there is less of a necessity for extensive life or critical illness insurance. After we got some basic coverage, DD and I decided that the money could be better invested elsewhere.
