I think if you live in the UK and you have a mortgage, you should consider some form of UK mortgage protection like this. As far as I know British insurance offer the best and most affordable policy available today. Unfortunately i was not aware that I didn’t have to go to my mortgage provider to get cover for mortgage payment protection insurance..I think I paid about twice that for my MPPI insurance. Ah well, at least it kept a roof over my head!

April 2009 according to the C&AG, not 2010.

“Following direction by the Governor of the Central Bank and Financial Services Authority
of Ireland and the acting CEO of the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority, no
discount was applied to advances made by banks to borrowers after 7 April 2009 provided
that it could be shown that the moneys were advanced as part of normal commercial
banking arrangements. For loans that transferred in the first tranche, NAMA accepted that
€299 million of those loans, issued after 7 April 2009, qualified for payment in full.”

Excellent video – one tiny question though. I always thought that the 16 commonwealth countries which Elizabeth II reigns over are individually known as ‘realms’ not collectively as a single ‘realm’, and that they are technically co-equal to the United Kingdom, which is also a Commonwealth Realm. So we have Queen of Canada, Queen of Jamaica, Queen of Tuvalu etc. Pedant likes to be pedantic, I know :/

mortgage protection insurance is a must for any UK homeowner. The British Insurance MPPI policy is an excellent product too. I was made redundant in 1999 and mortgage protection insurance saved my home.
