This is an exciting first time home buyer benefit being offered by the California Association of Realtors through the Housing Affordability Fund. The Mortgage Protection Program offers insurance payments in the event that a new homebuyer become involuntarily unemployed or accidentally disabled. Contact a local lender (if you are in WA State call me at 253-307-4984) and ask if they are familiar with the Federal Tax Credit for first time home buyers. In many states it is administered by the state housing finance commission, but can vary state by state. Try several local lenders if you cannot initially find one who knows how to get it done for you!
